In Jakarta at least there is two popular traditional cake market. First on Pasar Senen, and second on Blok M.
I visited Pasar Kue Subuh Blok M (Blok M Early Morning Cake Market). I rode my bicycle and arrived at Pasar Kue Subuh Blok M at 4:30 AM, usually they open to selling at 02:00 AM.
There are so many vendors who sell many cake types, like pastel, risoles, bingka, bolu, lemper, nagasari, klepon, kue lapis and many more.
The cake prices are cheap, you can buy a cake starting from Rp1000. Because the cake is cheap some people came to Pasar Kue Subuh Blok M for selling that cake again.
You can buy one cake, but for some cake, you only can buy min 50. Some people also buy cakes for dessert for their party at home. One of the sellers said to me the cakes are fresh, and still good for a day.
Not only a cake vendor but there is also gorengan vendor. Who sells traditional fried tofu, tempeh, cassava, banana, and many more.
It’s nice to see businesses are back to open again before that like the other business Pasar Kue Blok M is very quiet because of the pandemic.
That’s it thank you for reading.
